about

This is a series of songs written and improvised during the course of one magical year. This album is dedicated to collaboration, duality and exploring a lightness of being.

"The EP is a marriage of poetry and music, spare music that can be prickly, wistful and invasive if listened to quietly. Save for one song the lyrics are succinct, and colorful — images of dragonflies in someone’s eyes, a boy crying in a library, walking in circles, a sundress, a train traveling out west."
-Brian Tucker, The WAE

"Congrats to you and Justin seriously for embodying this shed and bloom of a year and recording it for your own progress. I’m so extremely happy for you both, and I feel the weight of your lessons levitating in the world for wanderer’s to pick and pull bits of endearment for their pleasures and pain. You’ve both evoked the most powerful feeling of 2016".
-Courtney Rivenbark

Track Name: library baby
I found a baby
in the library
behind the section
on gardening

he started to cry
so, I gave him a smile
but
he didn’t need me

I said,
“you should feel lucky
you should feel lucky”
In the library
library baby
fast asleep
Track Name: too bad I'm dangerous
don't wanna wear your jacket
(you do) but I do
too bad I'm dangerous

standing there in your sundress
I see no shame in this
(but I do) you do

too bad I'm dangerous
too bad I’m highly contagious

pick you up on a sunday
don’t know what could come of it
(but I do) you do

too bad I’m dangerous
too bad I'm dangerous

too bad you're dangerous
Track Name: dragonflies
I see dragonflies in your eyes
the slow pace of your fingers
tracing her thighs

with trembled teeth
I watch your feet
dadadada
but now you’re dancing with another

I cannot speak
I cannot speak

I will go on for days
dreaming of dragonflies
Track Name: (I guess)
you built me a white picket fence
but I did not want you to
I went for a walk to clear nonsense
I was never sincere

don't tell me what is wrong
I don't really care
don't tell me what is done
because I am my own

I’ll wade in a garden of weeds
as you plead and implore
you bring home all the meat
I won't eat anymore

don't tell me what is wrong
I don't really care
don't tell me what is done
because I am my own

I’ll put my children to sleep
and they’ll speak to me
in my dreams
in my dreams, they speak

I will build myself a nest
and live in my own blood
I'll take a train out west
and send you letters (I guess)
Track Name: not hard to find
I'm not scared
close your eyes

if you don't see me
I won't see you
if I don't see you
you won't see me

I'm really not that hard to find
Track Name: harpy song
I'll go for a walk in the woods with you
perhaps that is something to do
we walk in circles
do we really get to choose?
we walk in circles
